What is it to simply be where one is?
What does this even mean?
No striving, no resisting, no attempts to change anything that is here right now. No indulgence, no grasping, no enhancing, no pity whatsoever.
It’s a simple, but not necessarily easy, process of being exactly where we are in this very moment regardless of what shows up be it ambivalence, excitement, pain, confusion, joy, lethargy, desire, or harder than any of those, nothing at all.
Who are we if we are not in relationship to these states? Meaning, that if we simply allow them to be here instead of allowing them to move us into some sort of stance for or against them, who, in fact, are we then? If we’re not the depression, the enthusiasm, the fear, the jealousy who and what are we?
Allow yourself to be. Slow down, stop moving for 5 minutes physically, mentally, and emotionally and see what is under all that movement that defines us. Perhaps you’ll be pleasantly surprised, perhaps you’ll meet terror, perhaps it’ll be an interesting experiment.
